Nthanda Review publishes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. Prose submissions should be a maximum of 3,000 words. You can submit up to six poems, each poem not longer than two pages. For longer pieces, query first.

If you have literary events and opportunities you would like to share with the literary world, we will also be there for you.

If you have work that is published somewhere but you still want it published here, just tell us where and when it was published and we will acknowledge it.

We accept works on any theme and style. So, you do not really have to familiarize yourself with the works we publish. Just read them for the love of literature.

Contributors can submit to multiple categories. However, only submit once to each category until you have received our decision about your piece.

If we are the first to publish your work, we reserve first publishing rights and then all rights revert to the author. We do not want to limit our writers. If your work has first been published by Nthanda Review, you can also publish it elsewhere. You will just have to mention us as the first publisher.

Submit each work with a photo you would like to accompany it (Please, this must not be a photo of yourself as the author, but one that is in line with the theme of your work). If you will not, we will get a photo of our choice to accompany your work. Once your work has been published, we will expect you to share it on different social media platforms to ensure that it reaches a lot of people. We will also share it on our Twitter account and Facebook page.

Most importantly, submit work free of typos and other writing errors. The format that must be followed is Times New Roman 12, 1.5 line spacing for prose and single spacing for poetry. Include a brief biography at the bottom of your work.

Contributions accepted for publication may be subject to editing in collaboration with the author.

We do not pay contributors. The best we can do is to offer you the publishing space, for the love of literature and mankind.

Submissions must be emailed to and with the subject line indicating the genre/category of your submission.
